Patrol
The Patrol Division of the Buchanan County Sheriff's Department is staffed by 19 full-time deputies and 5 full-time School Resource Officers. We are committed to proactive patrolling and traffic enforcement for the protection of the citizens of Buchanan County.
Deputy Patrols are reponsible for the investigation of criminal activity and traffic enforcement, throughout the 441 miles of roads in Buchanan County. The Patrol Division actively works with the Civil Process, Corrections, Drug Strike Force and Investigation Units of the Buchanan County Sheriff's Department as well as other outside law enforcement agencies.
Deputies of the Road Patrol Division are also the primary responders for the Watch Residence Program. They proactively check our rural businesses and problem areas to attempt to prevent incidents of theft and vandalism. The residence program is most successful when citizens are actively involved. You, the citizens of Buchanan County, are our best resource in preventing criminal activity. This partnership with the citizens supports the divisions's mission to keep your property, homes and families safe.
