Criminal Investigator

Richard B. Wall, a retired St. Joseph Police Sergeant, began work as an investigator with the Buchanan County Prosecutor’s Office on October 1, 2019.

Wall began his career in 1985 as a police officer in Savannah, Missouri where he was promoted to Sergeant in 1987. Wall left the Savannah Police Dept. and went to work for the St. Joseph Police Dept. in 1989. During his tenure there he worked as a hit and run investigator and traffic accident reconstructionist. He was promoted to Corporal in 2000 and then to Sergeant in 2003. Richard was put into the role as the Accreditation Manager working directly for Chief Connally. In 2010 Richard retired from the Police Department and attended MWSU seeking and obtaining a degree as a Registered Nurse. Richard worked as a nurse for Mosaic Life Care.

Richard helps with major cases on trial preparation and follow-up investigations, working directly for Ron Holliday.

Richard stated, “Anything I can do with my fellow officers to help make this community safe and sound is our goal.”
