Court Security

The Court Security Division of the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office is directed by Lieutenant Joe Lysaght and Lieutenant Natalie Colboch.  It is supported by 1 Sergeant and 8 Sheriff’s Deputies.

Deputies are charged with the security of the physical building, the care, custody, and control of Buchanan County Jail inmates or inmates of the Missouri Department of Corrections that must appear for court proceedings, and the security and operations of the individual Courtrooms.

Deputies are assigned to the screening station at the public entrance of the courthouse located on 5th street.  There are also deputies assigned to each of the 6 Divisions of the 5th Judicial Circuit Court of Buchanan County, Missouri, which have their courtrooms in the Buchanan County Courthouse.
