Today Prosecuting Attorney Dwight K. Scroggins, Jr., filed the charge of Second Degree (Felony) Murder against Paul Albert Belding of St. Joseph, regarding the death of Richard Marion Gray of St. Joseph. Belding is charged with causing the victim’s death by causing head injuries to the victim while stealing the victim’s van on 6/13/16. This Class A Felony carries a punishment range of 10-30 years or life in the Department of Corrections. Eighty-five percent of any sentence on this charge is required to be served before becoming eligible for parole. Assigned court division, bond amount and arraignment date are not known at this time.
