The Buchanan County Prosecutor filed the following charge against Shawn Robertson in reference to the shooting death of Logan Michael Beems on November 23, 2017: Murder in the Second Degree, or in the alternative Voluntary Manslaughter. Murder in the Second Degree is a Class A Felony and carries a penalty of 10-30 years or life imprisonment without the possibility of parole until after 85% of any sentence ordered has been served.
Voluntary Manslaughter is a Class B Felony and carries a penalty of 5-15 years imprisonment.
The defendant will be arraigned Friday, January 12, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. in Division No. 6. Bond is denied.
