A Buchanan County resident was sentenced to 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to separate charges of felony domestic abuse and receiving stolen property.
The Buchanan County prosecutors asked for the maximum punishment for Travis Hood, age 41, at a sentencing hearing before Buchanan County Judge Daniel Kellogg and their request was granted. Mr. Hood was sentenced to 4 years for assault and 7 years for the charge of receiving stolen property. Each of those sentences were ordered to run consecutive with one another.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys, Kristina Zeit and Michelle Davidson, worked in tandem to convince the Court that the prison sentence was deserved due to Mr. Hood’s multiple prior felonies and several failed chances to address a serious substance abuse addiction in the past.
