Ron Holliday is the Elected Prosecuting Attorney for Buchanan County. He, along with eight Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys, two paralegals, two victim-witness advocates, and staff personnel strive to vigorously, effectively, and fairly prosecute all those who break laws in Buchanan County and see that those convicted are appropriately punished. The prosecutor represents the people of the State of Missouri. The office reviews investigations conducted by law enforcement agencies and decide whether there is sufficient evidence to file criminal charges. They also decide what charge or charges, if any, are appropriate based on the evidence presented. Prosecutors handle court proceedings, including trials, that may follow the filing of criminal charges. *Note* Not pictured is the child support division of the office. The prosecutor also is responsible for the collection of court ordered child support throughout the county and has on staff one designated assistant prosecutor to handle civil and criminal litigation connected with the enforcement of child support. The child support division includes a prosecutor, investigators, and numerous staff personnel.
