Dwight K. Scroggins, Jr., Prosecuting Attorney for Buchanan County, Missouri, today filed the following charges against Kellie Hoard for the murder of Richard Berry: Count I - Murder in the First Degree or in the Alternative, Murder in the Second Degree; Count II - Armed Criminal Action; and Count III - Abandonment of a Corpse. Counts I and II are Class A Felonies. Murder in the First Degree carries the penalty of life without possibility of parole. Murder in the Second Degree carries the penalty of 10 years to life with eligibility for parole after 85% of the sentence has been served. Armed Criminal Action is an unclassified felony carrying a penalty of 3 years to life. Count III is a Class D Felony carrying the maximum penalty of four years in prison.
